Z30.2: Sterilization
The purpose of a sterilization is to make the person being treated permanently infertile. To do this, in the case of women, the fallopian tubes are sealed or severed. In the case of men, the spermatic ducts are severed so that sperm can no longer get through.
The two fallopian tubes go to the right and left of the ovaries towards the womb. They are like tubes and they transport the egg cells from the ovaries to the uterus. The spermatic duct transports the sperm from the testicles to the urethra. The sperm emerge via the urethra. There is one spermatic duct on each side.
