ICD Code Search
The search tool contains the codes, names, and descriptions of diseases according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). This list is applicable for reporting to the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and is aligned with current national standards.
The codes and information are sourced from the official WHO website: icd.who.int, using the latest revision of ICD-10, updated in 2019.
Although the International Classification of Diseases – 11th Revision (ICD-11) was officially published and came into effect on January 1, 2022, the transition from ICD-10 to the new system requires time and resources, especially in countries with complex healthcare systems. Bulgaria, like many other countries, is still using ICD-10, with some of them in the process of translation and implementation.
