X30-X39: Exposure to forces of nature
X32: Exposure to sunlight
Exposure to sunlight refers to a group of conditions related to excessive or prolonged exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. These conditions encompass a broad variety of symptoms and severity, including sunburn, skin aging, eye damage, and even certain types of skin cancer. Excessive exposure to sun may also trigger heat-related illnesses such as heat stroke. Sunburn is a common symptom, characterized by red, painful skin that feels hot to the touch. Over time, chronic sun exposure can lead to premature skin aging, characterized by wrinkles, age spots, and a leather-like look. Eye problems such as cataracts can also occur, where UV radiation damages the eyes leading to clouding of the lens. In more severe cases, prolonged exposure to the sun's rays can lead to skin cancers like melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. These conditions all have different progressions, but often the risk grows with cumulative, unprotected sun exposure.
