W00-W19: Falls

W12: Fall on and from scaffolding

The classification of "Fall on and from scaffolding" covers a group of conditions resulting from an individual's accidental fall from or onto a scaffolding structure. These fall incidents can lead to different types of injuries, ranging from minor bumps and bruises to severe conditions such as fractures, dislocations, internal injuries or even traumatic brain injuries. Fall-related injuries generally manifest in symptoms like pain, swelling, deformity, impaired function, and sometimes visible wounds or internal bleeding, depending on the severity and the body part affected. Progression of the conditions caused by these falls is highly variable and heavily dependent on numerous factors, including the height of the fall, the position of landing, and the health condition of the individual at the time of the accident.
