S05: Injury of eye and orbit

S05.1: Contusion of eyeball and orbital tissues

The eye socket is a bony cavity in the face part of the skull. It is cone-shaped and padded with fatty tissue. Within it, the eye is well protected. The eye muscles, the tear duct and the optic nerve are also located in the eye socket.

If the eye and tissue around the eye are bruised, the affected area can be damaged. The eye and the tissue around the eye can swell up.
