The pancreas is located in the upper abdomen. It regulates the sugar content in the blood and forms substances for digestion, for example. The pancreas releases substances for the digestion via a duct into the intestine.

While developing in the womb, many different types of tissue develop in the body. The organs and body parts develop out of the various types of tissue. If tissue fails to develop properly, defects can occur.
