N75: Diseases of Bartholin gland

N75.8: Other diseases of Bartholin gland

The vagina is tubular and leads from the outside to the uterus. There are two glands in the area around the entrance to the vagina. Each gland is roughly the size of a pea. The glands produce a fluid when you are sexually aroused.

The glands sometimes become inflamed, for example due to pathogens.

When the glands become inflamed, they can swell up and be painful.
