N60-N64: Disorders of breast
Disorders of the breast, as classified under the N60-N64 group range in the ICD-10 WHO 2016 classification, include several conditions impacting the breast tissue. They typically involve abnormal changes in the breast, such as the formation of lumps, thickening or dimpling of the skin, or changes in the size or shape of the breast. These disorders can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, infections, injuries, and benign or malignant growths. They are not transmitted from person to person, but certain risk factors such as age, family history of breast disorders, and certain genetic mutations could increase susceptibility. Symptoms might not be immediately apparent in mild cases, but in more severe instances, one might observe changes in breast appearance or feel, skin irritation, nipple pain, or fluid discharge other than breast milk. Depending on the exact disorder, different parts of the breast structure may be affected. The progression of these conditions is also subject to the specific type of disorders, with some remaining stable over time, some regressing, and others progressing if left unattended.
