N60: Benign mammary dysplasia

N60.4: Mammary duct ectasia

The breast is made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and the mammary gland. Milk is produced in the mammary gland during and after pregnancy so that the child can be fed. The milk from the breast passes to the nipple through the milk ducts.

Enlarged milk ducts may occur, for example, when the sex hormones in your body are too high or too low. Your breast may also feel different. Your breast may also be painful, or your nipple may leak fluid.
