L41.1: Pityriasis lichenoides chronica
This condition causes small, flat papules to be formed. The papules are roundish and initially appear reddish. A fine scaly layer is found on these papules. After a few weeks the papules become pale or brownish. A hard scaly area is then formed that sits very firmly on top of the papule.
The skin lesions are mainly found on the upper part of the body and on the arms and legs. The skin lesions can be a bit itchy.
The exact cause of this skin disorder is not yet known.
