L40-L45: Papulosquamous disorders
L41: Parapsoriasis
Parapsoriasis is a group of uncommon skin disorders that can resemble and potentially develop into more serious skin conditions. Originating in the skin's middle layer (the epidermis), these conditions typically present as pink or red scaly patches that can itch or burn. While the cause is not fully understood, certain factors such as genetics, immune system abnormalities, or environmental triggers might play a role. This group of conditions is not contagious, so they cannot be transmitted from person to person. The progression of parapsoriasis varies. In some cases, the skin may clear up without treatment, or the condition may persist or evolve over time into different forms of skin lymphomas. It predominantly affects the skin, and while it may cause stress or discomfort, it doesn't generally influence other body systems.
