The throat begins behind the mouth and nose. The throat connects the mouth and nose with the windpipe (trachea) and gullet (oesophagus).

Your throat is constantly inflamed. As a result, you always have a dry throat. The throat can become inflamed for instance if you constantly breathe through your mouth. The throat can also become inflamed if you inhale a lot of dust or smoke.
