The inner ear is vital for hearing and balance. Sounds and information relating to balance are perceived in the inner ear. This information is routed via nerves to the brain. The information is processed in the brain.

Your inner ear is not working properly. This may cause dizziness, for example. There may be other symptoms too, such as nausea and vomiting. The eyes sometimes move involuntarily.
