D28: Benign neoplasm of other and unspecified female genital organs

D28.2: Benign neoplasm: Uterine tubes and ligaments

When there is abnormal growth of tissue in an organ, then this is referred to as a tumor. The tissue in the body is made up of cells. A tumor disorder involves the cells multiplying more than normal. This results in abnormal or excess tissue forming. A tumor can be benign or malignant. Benign tumors do not destroy the healthy tissue and do not spread throughout the body.

The two fallopian tubes go to the right and left of the ovaries towards the womb. They are like tubes and they transport the egg cells from the ovaries to the uterus. The uterus is attached to the pelvis by various ligaments. These ligaments are made up of strong connective tissue.

A tumor in the Fallopian tubes or connective tissue around the uterus does not often produce any symptoms. You may have abdominal pain, for example.
