D10-D36: Benign neoplasms

D28: Benign neoplasm of other and unspecified female genital organs

Benign neoplasms of other and unspecified female genital organs represent a group of conditions where non-cancerous growths occur in the female reproductive system. These growths can develop in various parts of the female genitalia like the ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and more, but never spread to other body parts. Causes of these neoplasms vary significantly and could be hormonal imbalance, genetic predisposition, or certain lifestyle factors. Often these benign tumors may not show any symptoms. However, some women experience discomfort, pain, or irregular menstrual periods. The impact of these growths on the body depends on their size and location. For instance, if a growth obstructs fallopian tubes it might interfere with fertility. When identified, these are usually monitored for changes in size and are removed if necessary.
