Z99.0: Dependence on aspirator
An aspirator is composed of a housing with a collection container and a flexible tube. If the aspirator is switched on, it then functions like a vacuum cleaner. Fluid or foreign bodies are usually removed from the body with the tube.
Sometimes you may no longer be able to expectorate (cough) properly, for example. In that case, a lot of phlegm usually accumulates in the respiratory tract. With an aspirator, phlegm can then be sucked out through the mouth or nose.
