Z64: Problems related to certain psychosocial circumstances
Z64.1: Problems related to multiparity
Multiparity refers to the condition of a woman who has given birth two or more times. This term is used to define a medical and obstetrical history in women. Contrary to primiparity (first childbirth), multiparity can present its own unique set of challenges and health issues. Some of these challenges include increased risk of uterine prolapse, where the uterus drops into the vagina due to stretched and weakened muscles from multiple childbirths. There is also a potential for more complicated labor and delivery due to changes in muscle tone and elasticity. Other potential issues include anemia and hemorrhage due to larger blood volume loss in subsequent pregnancies and deliveries. It's important to note that while these risks exist, they don't occur in every case and many multiparous women have healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
