Z22: Carrier of infectious disease

Z22.0: Carrier of typhoid

There are various kinds of pathogens. These include bacteria, viruses or fungi, for example. It can be assumed that certain bacteria have got into your body.

These bacteria can cause typhus.

Typhoid is a disease that can cause abdominal pain and a high temperature, among other things.

Pathogens can get into the body in a variety of ways. The pathogens can be transmitted by other people, by animals, or from the environment. That occurs for example via skin contact or bodily fluids such as saliva or blood.

Even if the bacteria have got into your body you are not currently ill as a result. But you may pass the pathogens on to other people.
