Y04: Assault by bodily force
Assault by bodily force refers to a group of violent incidents where an individual is intentionally harmed by another using physical strength. The damage inflicted during these actions can vary widely, from minor to severe, possibly life-threatening injuries. Common symptoms can include, but are not limited to, cuts, bruises, fractures, internal organ injuries, and trauma to the head or spinal cord. These symptoms typically present immediately or shortly after the event, but some, especially those related to internal injuries or trauma, may not manifest until hours or days later. The progression of these conditions is often influenced by the nature and extent of the injuries. While any system of the body can be impacted, the most commonly affected areas are the integumentary (skin), musculoskeletal, and nervous systems. While this group of conditions does not spread or transmit in a traditional sense, recurring episodes of violence can persist in certain relationships or environments.
