V80-V89: Other land transport accidents

Other land transport accidents refer to a category of incidents that result in physical injury due to the use of land-based transportation, excluding car accidents. These include accidents involving bicycles, motorcycles, skateboards, tricycles, scooters, and other non-motorized and motorized vehicles, as well as horse-riding incidents. Mechanical issues, operator error, road conditions, loss of vehicle control, and collisions with other objects or people are common causes. Injuries can range in severity from minor bruises and cuts, to more severe situations like fractures, head traumas, and life-threatening injuries. Symptoms depend on the type and severity of the injury sustained, but may include pain, swelling, and restricted movement. The progression of such conditions is most often acute, with some potentially developing into chronic issues if left untreated. Multiple body systems can be affected, depending on the nature and gravity of the accident.
