T52: Toxic effect of organic solvents

T52.8: Toxic effect: Other organic solvents

A substance can be absorbed into the body in different ways and result in poisoning. A substance can be inhaled, swallowed or absorbed via contact with the skin, for example. The symptoms can vary depending on which substance is involved and on how the substance got into the body. The type of symptoms may depend on the amount consumed. Some symptoms may also only appear later or with repeated poisonings.

Poisoning with substances from the organic solvents group can cause dizziness, nausea and headaches. Intoxication, convulsions and apnea may also occur.
