T52.4: Toxic effect: Ketones

Ketones can be used as a solvent.

A substance can be absorbed into the body in different ways and result in poisoning. A substance can be inhaled, swallowed or absorbed via contact with the skin, for example. The symptoms can vary depending on how the substance got into the body.

Poisoning with ketones can cause dizziness, nausea and headache. Intoxication, convulsions and apnea may also occur.
