Various gases can be used to treat certain illnesses or in operations. Such gases include oxygen and carbon dioxide, for example.

Poisoning by a gas can cause headaches, for example. You may also feel dizzy. You may have breathing difficulties. Your heart may beat more quickly. You may feel sleepy or lose consciousness.
