T37: Poisoning by other systemic anti-infectives and antiparasitics

T37.4: Poisoning: Anthelminthics

Worms are pathogens. Drugs to combat worms include mebendazole and albendazole.

A drug can cause poisoning if, for example, too much of it is taken. The drug may also be administered or taken by mistake.

Depending on which drug for worms has caused the poisoning, there can be different symptoms. There can be nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea, for example. The heart may beat too quickly, too slowly, or irregularly. The drug may also impair the liver function.
