A drug can cause poisoning if, for example, too much of it is taken. The drug may also be administered or taken by mistake.

Depending on exactly which drug has caused the poisoning, there can be different symptoms. There can be nausea or vomiting, for example. The heart can beat too quickly. The drug may also impair the liver function.
