T34: Frostbite with tissue necrosis

T34.6: Frostbite with tissue necrosis of hip and thigh

Frostbite involves tissue being damaged by cold. Depending on how badly the tissue has been damaged, a distinction is drawn between superficial and deep frostbite. You have deep frostbite on your hip or thigh.

Deep frostbite involves tissue dying off because of the cold. Blisters filled with blood may form. If the frostbite damages nerves, it may no longer be possible to feel pain.
