T28: Burn and corrosion of other internal organs

T28.2: Burn of other parts of alimentary tract

Various organs are required for digesting food. The digestive organs include the gullet, the stomach, the pancreas, and the intestines, for example.

In your case, tissue was damaged by high temperatures. For example, you can get burned by fire, electricity or certain rays.

The symptoms from a burn depend on how badly the tissue was damaged. The affected tissue may be red and swollen. Sometimes blisters or open wounds form. The tissue may die off, as well. Severe illness is possible. If the damaged tissue scars, there may be permanent problems.

Sometimes it is no longer possible to swallow properly. You have burned certain digestive organs. The body then is no longer able to properly break down food. Nutrients from food may also no longer be able to be probably absorbed. You may also have stomach pain or lose weight.
