T15: Foreign body on external eye

T15.9: Foreign body on external eye, part unspecified

The eye has different layers. The outer layers include the cornea and the conjunctiva, for example. The transparent cornea is on the outside of the eye above the pupil. The transparent conjunctiva covers the eye and the inside of the eyelids.

A foreign body can cause pain and the eye may water. The white of the eye can look red. And one’s vision may be blurred or unusually sensitive to light.
