T02: Fractures involving multiple body regions
T02.6: Fractures involving multiple regions of upper limb(s) with lower limb(s)
Fractures involving multiple regions of upper limb(s) with lower limb(s) are serious injuries where the bones of both the arms and legs are broken at multiple sites. These fractures often result from high-impact or severe trauma such as automobile accidents or significant falls. The breaks in the bones can vary in severity, from small hairline fractures to complex breaks where the bone shatters into many pieces. This condition is generally accompanied by severe pain, visible deformities in the affected limbs, difficulty moving the arms or legs, and sometimes bruising, swelling or bleeding in the area of the fracture. If not treated promptly, these types of fractures can lead to serious complications such as infection, damaged nerves and blood vessels, and long-term disability.
