S95: Injury of blood vessels at ankle and foot level

S95.2: Injury of dorsal vein of foot

Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart.

You have an injury to one or more veins in the back of your foot.

When a blood vessel is damaged, there is usually bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy, blood may collect in the tissue. You can then have leg pain. When there is bleeding below the skin, a bruise sometimes forms.
