S46: Injury of muscle and tendon at shoulder and upper arm level
S46.0: Injury of muscle(s) and tendon(s) of the rotator cuff of shoulder
The shoulder has a muscle group made up of 4 muscles. The muscles begin to the front and rear of the shoulder blade. Tendons attach them to the humerus at the top. These muscles stabilize the shoulder joint and are involved in various arm movements.
If the muscle group gets damaged it can affect the muscles or your tendons. The muscles or tendons may be partly or completely torn. In your case the muscle group has been damaged by injury.
When the shoulder muscle group is damaged it can be painful. The shoulder’s mobility can be affected. You may also have less strength than usual in your arm.
