S14: Injury of nerves and spinal cord at neck level
S14.5: Injury of cervical sympathetic nerves
Nerves are a sort of wiring in the body. Nerves conduct information. The nerves use electrical impulses to do this. Nerves are important, for instance, in enabling you to sense contacts and temperatures, and to move your muscles.
You have damaged nerves in your neck which are responsible for various bodily functions. For example, you may no longer be able to open your eye wide on the affected side. The skin on your head, neck or arms on the affected side may no longer sweat properly. You may also have too much saliva in your mouth.
