R73: Elevated blood glucose level
R73.0: Abnormal glucose tolerance test
In a glucose tolerance test the blood sugar is measured at certain times. Before the first blood sugar measurement you cannot eat for several hours. You are then given a certain amount of sugar. It may be a sugar solution that is drunk. But it is also possible for you to get the sugar solution straight into a blood vessel. The blood sugar measurement is then, after a certain time, taken once or more than once.
One or more of your blood sugar values was higher than usual.
