O90: Complications of the puerperium, not elsewhere classified
O90.2: Haematoma of obstetric wound
The perineum is the region between the anus and vagina. During a birth, this region is sometimes injured.
With a C-section or injury to the perineum, blood vessels are often injured. Blood can flow into the tissue in the process. When the wound is closed, the blood in the tissue can sometimes accumulate. In this way, a hematoma is formed.
