O04: Medical abortion

O04.0: Medical abortion : incomplete, complicated by genital tract and pelvic infection

There are various medical measures to terminate a pregnancy. Certain drugs are available. The pregnancy can also be terminated surgically.

During pregnancy, a child develops inside your uterus. The placenta usually provides the child with nutrients and oxygen in the womb.

Residual tissue from the child or from the placenta is still in your womb after the termination.

After or due to the termination, genital organs or tissue in your pelvis have become inflamed. These inflammations can be caused by pathogens.
