N90: Other noninflammatory disorders of vulva and perineum

N90.2: Severe vulvar dysplasia, not elsewhere classified

The external female genital organs include the labia, the clitoris and the skin around the vagina.

The tissue in the body is made up of cells. A tissue sample is taken to examine the cells in the skin or mucous membrane. The cells of your external genital organs have undergone severe changes. This type of change may be caused, for example, by certain viruses.

These changes to the skin or mucous membrane do not usually produce any symptoms. However, the cells may alter more over time and start to multiply uncontrollably. This may lead to cancer.
