N85: Other noninflammatory disorders of uterus, except cervix
N85.6: Intrauterine synechiae
The uterus or womb sits in the pelvis and is pear-shaped. The narrower part extends downward into the vagina and is called the cervix. When a woman is pregnant, the child grows in her uterus.
Scar tissue or adhesions can occur in the uterus following surgery or inflammation of the uterus. Scarring of the uterus can cause periods to become irregular or cease entirely. It is also possible that you will not become pregnant because of the scarring.
