N70-N77: Inflammatory diseases of female pelvic organs

N72: Inflammatory disease of cervix uteri

The uterus or womb sits in the pelvis and is pear-shaped. The narrower part extends downward into the vagina and is called the cervix. When a woman is pregnant, the child grows in her uterus.

An inflammation of the cervix is mostly caused by pathogens. The cervix may sometimes become inflamed when you wear a coil.

Mucus may sometimes be discharged from the vagina when the cervix is inflamed. The mucus may have an unpleasant smell or look different. But it is also possible that you will not notice an inflammation of the cervix.
