N64: Other disorders of breast
N64.4: Mastodynia
The breast is made up of fatty tissue, connective tissue and the mammary gland. Milk is produced in the mammary gland during and after pregnancy so that the child can be fed.
In addition to the pain, your breasts may also feel tight or swollen. Breast tissue can be altered or reduced as a result of changes to the levels of messenger substances. This may also cause pain in your breast.
