The penis contains erectile tissue. The erectile tissue of the penis becomes engorged with blood when you are sexually aroused. This causes you to have an erection. You may have a blood clot in your penis or the erectile tissue of the penis. Your penis or its erectile tissue may have increased in size. Or your penis or its erectile tissue may have become smaller.
