N48.0: Leukoplakia of penis
The glans is the head of the penis. The white patches may occur, for example, if the glans is inflamed over a long period. The cells in the white patches may alter more over time and start to grow uncontrollably. This may lead to cancer.
People with this condition often find their glans itches severely. Their foreskin may also become tight. The foreskin is the piece of skin covering the glans and it can normally be pulled back (retracted) over the glans. The glans may hurt when the penis is erect. It is also possible that you will have problems when urinating.
