N37: Urethral disorders in diseases classified elsewhere
N37.0: Urethritis in diseases classified elsewhere
The urinary passages include the ureters, bladder and urethra. Urine flows from both kidneys into the bladder via the ureters. The urethra channels the urine outward from the bladder.
The inflammation of your urethra is due to another disease. This disease may have been caused by pathogens.
The urethra is like a movable tube. It is lined with mucous membrane. The inflammation may make the mucosal lining become swollen or scarred. If the mucous membrane becomes scarred, the urethra may become narrower.
An inflamed urethra can cause problems when urinating. You may have a frequent urge to urinate. It is also possible that you will have pain when urinating. You may have blood in your urine.
