N35.1: Postinfective urethral stricture, not elsewhere classified
The urinary passages include the ureters, bladder and urethra. Urine flows from both kidneys into the bladder via the ureters. The urethra channels the urine outward from the bladder.
Your urethra is constricted because it has become inflamed due to pathogens. This may cause the urethra to become scarred and therefore narrow.
If your urethra is too narrow, it is likely that you cannot urinate properly. For example, the flow of urine may be very weak. You may feel the urge to urinate very often, particularly at night-time. The urinary passages may also become inflamed again as a result of the constricted urethra.
