N34: Urethritis and urethral syndrome

N34.1: Nonspecific urethritis

When you have to pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.

An irritated urethra may become inflamed. This tends to happen as a result of pathogens or following medical treatment.

People with an inflamed urethra often experience pain or a burning sensation when urinating. They often feel a constant urge to urinate. The urethral discharge may be mucoid (glassy) or purulent.
