N34: Urethritis and urethral syndrome
N34.0: Urethral abscess
When you have to pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.
A pus-filled cavity has formed in your urethra due to an inflammation. However small glands on the urethra may also be inflamed. These glands are part of the genital organs and emit fluid into the urethra. An inflammation is often caused by pathogens.
People with an inflamed urethra often experience pain or a burning sensation when urinating. They often feel a constant urge to urinate. The urethral discharge may be mucoid (glassy) or purulent.
