M36: Systemic disorders of connective tissue in diseases classified elsewhere
M36.0: Dermato(poly)myositis in neoplastic disease
This inflammation was caused by a tumor disorder. With tumor disorders, the body’s metabolism may be changed. The defense system also responds to a tumor disorder. For example, the defense system may produce antibodies against the tumor. But these antibodies can also attack the skin and muscles.
The disorder causes a weakening of the muscles. As a result it can be very hard work just to comb your hair, for example. The inflammations in the skin can cause changes to the skin. For example, the skin may turn anything from pale red to purple, or swell up.
