L88: Pyoderma gangrenosum
The first sign of this skin condition is small blisters or papules. A wound then develops at the site and this gets bigger and goes deep into the skin. This type of deep wound is also known as an ulcer. The wound can reach into the fat layer under the skin. Parts of the affected skin or the fat layer can die off. The ulcer can be very painful.
The skin condition mainly appears on the legs. However, it can be found all over the body.
The exact cause of this skin disorder is not known. The skin condition can develop from minor injuries, insect bites or from wounds after surgery.
