L75.2: Apocrine miliaria
These sweat glands are located just below the surface of the skin, especially in the armpits and in the genital area and produce sweat. The sweat reaches the surface of the skin from the sweat gland through small pores. If these small pores close, then the sweat can no longer drain from the affected areas properly. It then collects in the skin.
This results in small skin-colored papules forming and these can itch. The skin may become inflamed in the affected areas and look rougher than usual. Hair in the affected areas may fall out.
