L50-L54: Urticaria and erythema
L52: Erythema nodosum
Beneath the skin is fatty tissue. This fatty tissue has become inflamed in your case. As a result, nodules have formed beneath your skin. These nodules are often purplish and may be sore. You may also have painful joints and a high temperature. The lower legs are often affected, and sometimes the arms, too.
The inflamed fatty tissue is usually an indicator of another disorder. The nodules often appear after contact with pathogens or when there is a disorder in the body’s own immune system. Medication can also sometimes trigger an inflammation of the fatty tissue.
The nodules usually clear up after a few weeks, leaving no scars. Once the nodules have healed, the skin in those areas is often brown. The nodules beneath the skin sometimes reappear.
