K91: Postprocedural disorders of digestive system, not elsewhere classified
K91.0: Vomiting following gastrointestinal surgery
The gastrointestinal organs grind and digest food. These organs also include the liver and pancreas, for example.
There are various reasons why you have to vomit after an operation. For example, you are often not allowed to eat anything before an operation. Furthermore, during surgery you lie down for a considerable time without moving. As a result, the intestines may often convey bolus and feces much more slowly than normal. If the bolus or feces is conveyed more slowly than usual, you may then vomit. It may also be the case for instance that you will vomit because of drugs for the surgery.
